The OC hosted the BC in a section matchup, with the Eagles run ruling the Jags 13-3. Barrett Skaugrud was dominant on the mound again, with 4 strikeouts in his 4 innings of work, leaving with a 10-1 lead. The Eagles were threatening to score all game, getting 1 run in the first on a fielders choice from Garrett Anderson, then 2 more in the 2nd off a Hustyn Wheeler 2RBI single. But the game was broken open in the 3rd when the Eagles sent 11 players to the dish, scoring 7 runs. Jacob Miller had an RBI single, Aidan Sullivan 2RBI single and Wheeler with an RBI double. The Eagles were the beneficiary of 6 walks on the day.

Short outing: Skaugrud has been relied on to get deep into ballgames early this season, so it was good to get him a short 44 pitch outing. Luke Dickson and Cennedy Murrell got into the action, each getting an inning in the 5th and 6th.

Breakout: So very team minded at bats today, paid off big, with Jacob Miller going 3 for 3, Aidan Sullivan going 1 for 2 with a great sac bunt, and Preston Lucas getting on base all 4 times. Hopefully this game helps to get a few guys going in the right direction.

Gameball: Hustyn Wheeler had 2 big hits and drove in 3 runs in the 9 hole to break things open.

Next game: Unfortunately you don’t carry over any runs to the next game, so we are focused on Thursdays rematch at their place with the score 0-0.
