The Eagles traveled across town to play for the first time in school history at Red Mountain, and they never want to go back again as they lost 12-2. The Eagles jumped out to a 1 run lead in the top half of the first, thanks to hits from Preston Lucas, Chase Valentine and an RBI single from Landon Boyd. In the bottom of the first it was a different story. The first 5 players got hits and the score was 6-1 before you could blink an eye. The Eagles ran out 4 different pitchers on the day and were run ruled in the 5th inning. Offensively OC had 6 hits and scored two runs.

Competitiveness- This was really our first non-competitive game of the season, which when dealing with 16-18 year olds is pretty unique. In baseball things can go sideways pretty quick and tonigh it did.

Positive signs: Luke Dickson was sharp going 3 up 3 down in his inning of work. Andrew Peronace saw his first varsity action, going 1 inning and striking out a batter.

Good team: I think Red Mountain is a good team and that pitcher was a good high school pitcher. Our schedule is tough and this is the time when we need our dudes to step up and be able to make an impact in a game like this.

Week: It don’t get easier, we got Perry at home Friday who is usually a really good team. We have to find some fight to compete against these kinds of teams.
